Salt and Pepper
This theme is about the economic life of Kampot since 1860. Having a natural environment on the border of the sea, the great Mekong delta, and containing rich farmland and mountainous forests has always given Kampot the potential for a myriad of economic opportunities.
With a population with a liking for resistance and rebellion however those opportunities have not always been realized. The stories of Kampot must flow through the history of the pepper farms (picture below), the salt fields and the fishing villages. There will be people who have such stories. Please get in contact with us to help us bring these stories to light.
